What is Turbo Browser?

Turbo Browser is a Chromium 148-based desktop browser with fast cold start, strong Speedometer scores, account sync, data import, mouse gestures, screenshots, and tab enhancements. See product overview.

Which operating systems are supported?

PlatformRequirements
WindowsWindows 10+, x64
macOSmacOS 11+ (Apple Silicon / Intel depending on the release build)

We recommend 500MB+ free disk space for the app and user data.

Is it free?

Yes. Turbo Browser is free to download and use.

How do I get the latest version?

Use the Download button on the home page or in the navigation bar to get the latest installer. The current version is shown on the page. See Download for system requirements and install steps.

Install & upgrade

How do I install on Windows?

  1. Download the Windows installer and run the setup wizard.
  2. Complete installation; optionally create a desktop shortcut.
  3. On first launch you can skip the intro and start browsing.

macOS says the app can't be opened?

If Gatekeeper blocks an unsigned or freshly downloaded app, try:

Option 1: System Settings

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose to open the app anyway when prompted.

Option 2: Terminal

Terminal
$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Turbo.app

Adjust the path if Turbo is installed elsewhere. More in Download.

How do I check for updates?

Turbo includes built-in update checks. When a new version is available, you'll be prompted to download and install. You can also download the latest installer from Download for a full reinstall.

How do I uninstall?

  • Windows: Uninstall via Settings → Apps, or use the uninstaller in the install directory.
  • macOS: Move /Applications/Turbo.app to Trash.

TIP

Uninstalling does not remove bookmarks or passwords already synced to the cloud. Back up any local-only data first.

Account & sync

Which sign-in methods are supported?

Click the avatar in the top-right and choose Turbo account or Google account.

What can I sync?

In Settings → Sync, enable as needed:

  • Bookmarks
  • Passwords
  • Passkeys
  • Cookies

Sync failed — what should I do?

Sync depends on Turbo services and a stable network. If it fails:

  1. Check your network connection.
  2. Confirm you are still signed in.
  3. Retry later; the first sync may take a few minutes.

TIP

Google sign-in uses Google's sync path; Turbo account sign-in uses Turbo cloud sync. Data is not shared between the two — back up local data before switching accounts.

Data import

Can I import from Chrome or Edge?

Yes. Open Settings → Import browser data, choose Chrome or Edge, and select:

  • Bookmarks
  • Passwords
  • Autofill
  • Extensions (per current release support)

Will extensions import completely?

Extension import varies by release — use the options shown in Settings. You can also install extensions from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons.

  2. Enable gestures and review defaults; customize trail color and action mappings.
